An Innovative Treatment That Enhances the Healing Process

One of the new and exciting treatment options we offer at Greentree Medical Center is enriched plasma therapy. It uses a unique method to boost your body's ability to heal, and it's all done by taking a small sample of your own blood and adding more platelets to the solution. Growth factors are also added to support the repair mechanisms in the cells.

The Procedure

In order to achieve the production of enriched plasma, the blood we take from you is put into a centrifuge, and the blood is spun very fast to separate the platelets from the plasma. Once we add the concentrated platelets and growth factors to the empty plasma solution, it becomes "enriched plasma" where the mixture is injected into injured or damaged areas in your body.

This procedure, therefore, supports the local healing process, and it can be used for arthritis, sports injuries, inflammation due to chronic conditions, and other related issues.

What the Body Does With Enriched Plasma

The body readily absorbs enriched plasma, and when it does, growth factors encourage the growth of new cells. This has the capacity to aid in the recovery process by restoring and building injured tissues. It also reduces inflammation. Since inflamed tissue slows down healing, lessening the inflammation results in a more efficient recovery.

Conditions That Respond To Enriched Plasma Therapy

Below are some common disorders and conditions that we have successfully treated, giving patients the ability to heal faster.

Injured Tendons

Enriched plasma therapy has been shown to improve tendon function and reduce inflammation in those with tendonitis or chronic tendinosis conditions.

Muscle Strain

Torn or pulled muscles also benefit from enriched plasma therapy since inflammation is reduced and the healing process is accelerated.

Osteoarthritis

There's now growing research that indicates enriched plasma may help treat osteoarthritis pain as well as stiffness by modulating the joint environment. Inflammation is also reduced.

Enriched plasma is a new advancement in science.

Take a look at our FAQ section below.

  • How do you perform plasma treatment?

Qualified medical practitioners draw a blood sample and separate the blood's components until the plasma is clean. Additional platelets and growth factors are added to the plasma for an enhanced "healing blood" solution that accelerates the healing process for damaged tissue.

  • Who is eligible for the treatment?

People of all ages who have suffered from sports injuries, have chronic joint pain from diseases such as arthritis, or have torn ligaments are all candidates for enriched plasma therapy. This is an excellent alternative to surgical approaches.

  • How long does it take for the results?

The healing process will vary depending on both the individual and the severity of the patient's condition. Some patients heal as fast as one week while others may require several months for results. Regardless of how long it takes for you to heal using this procedure, our team is here to serve you from beginning to end.
